On April 16, 2007, the world lost 32 extraordinary individuals, each one unique and special, but all of whom shared common characteristics: intellectual curiosity, academic achievement, kindness, a respect and tolerance for others and compassion. All gave of themselves: to their families, friends, colleagues, university and communities.

On that same tragic day, other students, faculty members and staff were injured, physically and/or psychologically. They, too, are unique and special and share common characteristics: a willingness to forgive, gratitude for life, a desire to commemorate those who were lost and a passion to make the world a better place.

Many of the survivors, their family members and family members of those who died joined as one to form this Foundation in order to:

  • Care for each other and all who may be impacted by campus tragedy
  • Ensure that our campuses remain safe and secure for our students
  • Create a living legacy of the 32 who died that fateful day

We welcome you to our website and hope you will join us in our efforts to change the world, one day at a time.
