Kenneth A. Fulmer: Executive Director
Ken Fulmer has 30 years of experience in the administration of nonprofit organizations including:Chief staff officer of three start-up groups: an association, a foundation and a foundation dedicated to an association. His most recent position was with the Armed Forces Veterans Homes Foundation.
Military families: 18 years as a volunteer and staff member in tragedy assistance for survivors. He co-founded the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which provides scholarship support to the children of service members killed in the missions and training of the U.S. Special Operations Command.
Higher education: Ken holds a PhD in the field (administration and policy analysis) from Stanford University. He has worked in student personnel administration and after graduate school, worked in government and corporate relations - and marketing communications - at George Mason University.
S. Daniel Carter, Director of the 32 National Campus Safety Index
S. Daniel Carter has more than 20 years of experience working with college and university campus safety issues. He began at the University of Tennessee, from which he has a B.A. in Political Science, with the student group Safe Campuses Now then worked for Security On Campus, Inc., a national non-profit campus safety organization.He has been recognized on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives as “probably the leading person in this Nation in advocating for more action and tough action against crimes that are committed on campus.” His experience includes helping to craft and implement five major pieces of federal legislation, operating a national campus crime victim advocacy program, and co-creating and running a campus security training program that has served more than 2,500 college and university officials.
Marjorie Castro, Director of Development
Born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, Marjorie has an extensive background in fundraising, marketing, and special event planning. Through astute strategic planning, communications and branding, she has delivered a wide range of community based projects for her private sector and not-for-profit clients. Her past clientele includes the United Way, SAP International, Fisher House Foundation, Marine Corps Scholarship Fund and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.Marjorie lives in Oakton, Virginia with her husband of 28 years. They have two adult sons and a daughter who is a junior at Bishop O'Connell High School.
Adela Ghadimi, Research and Communications Associate
Originally from Daytona Beach, FL, Adela Ghadimi completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami where she was very active in the community on and off campus, and triple majored in International Studies, Political Science, and Geography. She most recently graduated with Master of Science degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics. During her two years living in London, Adela was able to travel and put some of her learning into action, and is looking forward to continuing that application here in the Washington Metro area.
